Religion Isn’t a Bad Thing

You have probably heard the idea that “God wants a relationship, not religion.” It’s like saying “God wants communication, not affiliation.” While relationship and religion are not exactly the same thing, they are closely related. Religion involves a relationship. Most people when they think of religion, they “only” think of the externalities of it. Rituals and methods involved in proper outward devotion. However, religion is deeper than that.

Religion – religion in its most comprehensive sense, includes a belief in the being and perfections of God, in the revelation of his will to man, in man’s obligation to obey his commands, in a state of reward and punishment, and in man’s accountableness to God; and also true godliness or piety of life, with the practice of all moral duties.
