Gate on the Pony Path Looking back as we ascend the early section of the Pony Path going up Cadair Idris, July 2009, Trevor Harris, WikimediaDear reader,

My name is Maria, and I have been writing for many years, blogging for a few. My focus used to be on writing Christian fantasy and fairy tales, but now I simply want whatever I write or reblog to help others in their faith. I’ve taken The Pilgrim’s Progress for my theme because it is the story of coming to the Lord Jesus Christ in repentance and faith, walking the narrow way with Him, and arriving safe in Heaven because of His saving power. The Pilgrim’s Progress is also the theme of my second blog, a palace beautiful, which is devoted to encouragement.

Mercy, grace, and peace be multiplied to you who believe in Him Who is our God and Saviour!

Matthew 7:13-14

(the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ)

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Hebrews 11:16

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Hebrews 7:24-25

But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

  1. Just wanted to thank you for the like on my blog. I appreciate your focus – on the Lord Jesus, using Pilgrim’s Progress as a template. Truly there is in that writing which speaks to our world. We see Madame Bubble or her children all the time on TV and other media. Going to follow you. Since you mention views of prophecy, I’ve been a believer in the doctrines of grace for many years, but, without meaning to be divisive or difficult, have never seen anything in Scripture or Reformed writings, to be anything but premillennial. I know it’s said that “prophecy” isn’t important, and in the sense that any particular view of it isn’t necessary to be saved, that’s true, but it is in God’s Word – a lot of it. It is, on that account, important. Thanks again for the like and I hope to get to know you better in days to come.

  2. Good reference up top: ‘He hath an unchangeable priesthood…….’ indeed Maria.

And oh, I’m almost certain that you are the first person to link me to a ‘roll.’ 😉

That’s mighty nice of you. I always thought it strange to ‘suggest’ to someone that they include a link. Always better your way.

  3. Maria, I have read the pilgrim’s regress. I passed up the opportunity to buy the pilgrim’s progress at s Salvation Army counter recently. Is it worth the read?
