The heartbreak is…

…that there is “another jesus.” Jesus Himself warned that there would be many “christs”. Seen at every turn, the hand held out to you is false – there may be a wound, a bit of blood, or a scar, but the hand isn’t His. Please don’t run ahead of faith – faith pleases Him – and go to movies that lie. Be patient for you will see Him as He is.

Please don’t go to see The Young Messiah or Risen. No man or child can portray the God Man, Jesus Christ. To look into the eyes of a pretender is to be open to the lie.

Matthew 24:5

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

1 John 3:2

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Peter 1:8

whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

  1. I don’t know anything about the movies but I do know about a popular other Jesus these days that I call bar-Jesus. He gives people whatever their hearts desire, I hear. Health, wealth, every worldly thing. That’s not the Jesus I know.

  2. As I read this I thought about how people not liking if there is another partner other than themselves in an intimate relationship and yet people could not understand God’s exclusivity that’s demanded for us to follow Him and not “another Jesus” or false idols.

  3. Hi, Maria!
This post reminds me of the video that Richard Bennett did on images of Christ Jesus and such. He spoke of the Jesus movie that many people saw through the aid of the missions’ group, Youth With a Mission. He said that since the showing of that movie, the people have taken up idolatry. They are not worshiping the true Jesus. Like you said, faith pleases God and images are not faith inducing.

God bless you, precious sister! amen!~ \o/

    • Sherry, thank you for letting me know about this! This idolatry is the unintended consequence of these movies and pictures, the fruit of disobedience. The commandment is set aside to do “evangelism”. This is one of the reasons why churches have Christmas decorations and celebrations as you know, because pastors state that more people are open to the Gospel at this time. If only we would obey, we would see good fruit!
God bless you, dear sister, for helping us with these things!! It is a constant encouragement, as is our sister Eliza’ s steadfastness!

  4. We are not given any description of Jesus Christ in the Scriptures other than the description of Isaiah 52 and 53:

As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. Isaiah 52:14-15

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:1-6

All of this points to His great sacrificial work on the cross for our redemption, our salvation, our reconciliation with God, praise the Name of Jesus! This is all we need to know and focus on. Amen!
