For Christians who don’t celebrate Christmas

.

If for reasons of conscience toward the Lord, you don’t celebrate Christmas, please don’t tell yourself, or let anyone make you feel that, there is no beauty in winter without it.

If you live in a cold climate, the snow He sends will still be white, and the trees, which He planted, will still bear this beautiful burden of whiteness on their boughs. The sparrows will still twitter and flit, and the snow still sparkle in the daytime and twinkle at night.

All of the beauties, in whatever climate you live at this time of year, will still be there! Fellowship will be as sweet without it, when we walk in the Spirit, and we can give and receive at any time. Food will be just as delicious, and this life – because He redeemed us! – will still be a life of lasting wonders.

So let us rejoice every day

because Jesus came to us,

lived among us His perfect life,

died to save us,

was raised to give us right standing with His Father,

and is coming soon – He Who is the source of all love and life and goodness!

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)

Hebrews 2:14,15

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

  1. Even though we have always celebrated Christmas I respect you holding to your conviction not to. We should each hold on to the convictions the Lord gives us. To me celebrating or not should not cause any tension among believers. Lord bless you, Maria.

  2. Hi Maria-
Levi- (i’ve seen u around town, nice to meetcha 😉

Your interchanges on this issue of the day, is a good example of how believers may come to differing views, yet have the very best of fellowship. Levi could be offended that Maria does not observe………..Maria could be offended that Levi observes……………and in the middle is the pursuit of ‘the more excellent way,’ which from a bystanders point of view, is exactly what you both are doing, and at the end of the day, nobody is offended.

This is actually of more value that the position itself! You are providing a great example in real Christianity.
Hats off to both of you, and glory to God. (If my two cents is no good, there is that little delete button 😉

  3. I admire your gentleness, Maria. I have so much to learn in this area… My style to other Christians is as follows: “Show me the command to celebrate Christmas in the Bible, and if it’s not there BETTER WATCH OUT!” Isn’t there enough commands in the Bible to follow? Should we dare to add to them? I thank the Lord for people who see the truth about ChristMASS (evil catholic deceptive invention) and stand against the error. Blessings.
